Kick back with us and learn how to live well, eat right, and feel better about yourself. presented by Pam Giese Sunday, August 7, 2011 Convention Center Room 113C 7:00 am – 8:00 am Sunrise Yoga workout A gentle awakening followed by a series of movements and postures designed to infuse the body with energy for the day. 8:00 am – 9:00 am Nutrition and Supplement Basics lecture A simple explanation of how to fuel the body for optimum health and weight management; includes a very simple discussion of Supplements, the DSHEA act of 1994, and what each of us should know in order to make responsible, safe, healthy decisions. 9:00 am – 10:00 am Core Work, Pilates and Balance workout Using only our body, we will develop a progressive workout focused on abdominals, back, shoulder stabilizers and individual limb strength. 10:00 am – 11:00 am Planning Meals and Snacks for the Alternative Work Schedule lecture Cooking is almost obsolete for the busy, working professional. This discussion will provide practical strategies and suggestions for how to find time in your schedule to prepare healthy, portable, easy foods on a greatly restricted time budget. 11:00 am – 12:00 pm Lunchtime Strength and Conditioning - Using Your Body for Resistance workout Using our body and a few tools and toys, such as chairs and floor space, we will complete a comprehensive, full body strength program that can be done anywhere. No gym membership required. 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm Complimentary Body Composition Testing in the APCO Pavilion 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm Label Reading and Eating Out Healthfully lecture A basic education on label reading to empower you, the consumer and alert you as to the "official and legal" definitions of terms like fat free or no trans fat. We will also explore the most important reasons to be really aware of your choices when eating out. 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm Caffeine, Alcohol and Stress Deprivation; Catabolic Factors lecture A fun and informative look at the sabotaging effects of some of the most prevalent lifestyle saboteurs. Learn what happens to the internal chemistry and cellular structure of our fat cells when these factors are present. 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm Yoga to Unwind workout A light movement oriented segment followed by gentle, relaxing, pleasing poses designed to encourage relaxation and intellectual recovery. Those familiar with the language of yoga will understand this to be a predominantly yin practice.
